Purchase production components to engineering specification in support of production.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Fully understand print specifications and effectively communicate these with suppliers. Evaluate supplier process capabilities regarding specific product designs. Evaluate supplier performance including quality, delivery, price and technical support. Analyze quality of supplier’s product and assign corrective action if needed. Participate in product development to negotiate pricing on component parts. Locate and recommend potential suppliers. Negotiate pricing with current and potential suppliers. Efficient scheduling of parts delivery to minimize inventory. Visit suppliers on a regular basis. Develop and maintain supplier relationship. Travel required up to 25% of the scheduled work time.

Education And/Or Experience
B.A./B.S. degree from a 4-year college or university and 3 years minimum work experience in a related field and or/training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Prefer experience in Manufacturing Engineering role, with knowledge of one or more of the following: Process Capability, machining, die casting, plastic injection molding, assembly, powdered metal processing Outstanding communications and interpersonal skills. Strong reasoning and analytical skills. Knowledge of fluid power dynamics a plus. Must be proficient with Microsoft Office |
