| Job Description | Function:
Handle engineering aspects of large volume manufacturing; includes order fulfillment processes, product sustaining activities, change management, product verification
Essential Tasks and Duties:
•Technical interface to Contract Manufacturer (CM) and material suppliers in a fast paced environment.
•Bring urgent matters to forefront of management attention for resolution.
•Participate in regular review meetings with CM covering production issues; cost reduction, shortage management, corrective actions, and quality Improvements.
•Support external contract manufacture/suppliers product EOL (End of Life) cycles as well as repair and refurbishment activities.
•Lead support efforts to address and resolve sustaining engineering issues with production products and related problems.
•Support Operation’s role in company growth and improvement efforts.
•Participate in cost reduction efforts.
•Participate in and implement first article inspections and quality tests.
•Perform periodic review of plant layout. Provide recommendations for changes to increase productivity and efficiency based on current/ future manufacturing requirements
•Assist in training personnel in new techniques to improve productivity
•Following up with both internal and external customers quality issues and providing action plans.

Knowledge and Skills:
•Familiarity with PCB types and finishes, IC packages, BGAs mounting and rework methods
•Working knowledge of IPC-A-610 workmanship standards
•Working knowledge in ISO 9000 or TS16949 quality management systems
•Working knowledge of SMT manufacturing processes, printed circuit board design methods, electronic circuit/packaging design practices, optimization studies understanding (i.e. SPC, DOE, FMEA).
•Working knowledge of a 3D CAD toolset.
•Working knowledge of PCB layout tools.
•Knowledge of quality control principles, business processes, management systems.
•Analytical and creative problem solving skills
•Excellent communication skills, clarify issues technical and operational, reach consensus with an audience.
•Ability to set goals and achieve scheduled deadline
•Proficient in Microsoft Office 2010 Products or greater i.e. Excel, Word, Project, Microsoft 7 or 8 OS
•Ability to work in a matrix organization
•Ability to work independently and as a team member
•Ability to work in an entrepreneurial environment with minimum resources and people are expected to do multiple tasks with creative thinking
Education:
•B.S.in Electrical Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering Technology
Experience:
•Minimum of 1-3 years’ experience in electronics engineering or electronic manufacturing process, surface mount technology and associated electronics test equipment.
Working Conditions:
Standard work week is 40 hours, Mon-Fri 8AM – 5PM. Work generally conducted in a climate controlled office environment. May be required to visit contract manufacturing facilities in foreign countries (i.e. Mexico, China, etc.) and customer locations that may include truck yards, maintenance facilities, and other industrial locations. |
