Lead Engineer, Automation - NA730
Area of Employment

The Lead Engineer is a ""hands on"" engineer who additionally provides project technical leadership for Hydro Automation projects.
Leads the automation engineering team to design, manufacture, and test of control system components on assigned projects
Responsible for the organization of the assigned project engineering team to deliver engineering documentation according to the project schedule
Fully responsible for the technical design - complete ownership of the technical solution and ensures that the design complies with Voith internal standards, industry/national standards and customer specifications
Review and check design engineers calculations, designs, and documents and mentor design engineers on the project team, setting an example with respect to the use of approved engineering and project tools
Maintain key project control tools including the Document Forecast Tool (DFT), Variance Database, and the Master Action Item Lists on assigned projects
Qualifications

Proficient designer of PLC based automation systems, including thorough working knowledge of hardware design principles, software design principles, and industrial networking
Proficient in drawing circuit diagrams in a computer aided design environment and experience in developing and integrating software in an industrial or utility environment
Demonstrated past ability to lead a small group of engineers
Superior organization and time management skills
Prior test and field start up experience
This position requires travel away from the home office between 10-20% average per year
The scope of this position is to provide technical lead for project engineering teams ranging from 1-3 professionals. Typically 3 projects assigned to a Lead at any given time. Voith is an equal opportunity employer
