Maintenance Manager Blow Molding

Job Description
Basic Function

Responsible for the maintenance, repairs, installation and improvement of blow mold and downstream equipment and support systems at the Allentown facility and for managing and developing the maintenance team. Position is also responsible for managing the shift maintenance mechanics and managing the movement of molds to/from the facility.

Specific Duties

Fully involved with local management team. Provides technical input, solutions and options on improving productivity/efficiencies and product quality for area of responsibility.

Directly supervises the blow mold maintenance personnel insuring a motivated, skilled workforce. Assesses skills and recommends or provides training to ensure department personnel are technically competent to maintain equipment in use at the facility.

Manages the movement of molds from and to the Allentown facility and is the key contact person for molds at the facility.

Responsible for tracking expenditures and labor costs to insure compliance with plant and department budgets.

Recommends and may implement programs to eliminate identified problems, to improve labor utilization, upgrade facilities, and reduce costs.

Seeks bids on construction, alteration or installation work as required. Recommends contractors based on cost, workmanship, and completion dates. Administers such contracts and coordinates work performed to ensure expectations are met and contractors adhere to facility policies.

Responsible for the development, implementation, improvement and compliance of preventative maintenance programs. Ensures repair work is documented.

Responsible for compliance with applicable Federal, State and local safety and health, environmental, building and fire ordinances and standards not limited to lockout, haz-com, machine guarding and waste disposal. Is an active participant in local safety program and ensures maintenance team are properly trained and perform work in safe manner.

Education Required: Degree in mechanical or electrical engineering discipline preferred, but not required.

Experience Required: Five to seven years of industrial maintenance experience, preferably with blow molding experience. Must have good working knowledge of high production machinery and facilities together with proven managerial experience.ý
