SUMMARY:
Lead technical efforts related to process evaluation and optimization for all fabrication processes. This effort will primarily focus on tube fabrication which involves automated bending, end forming, welding, and fixture design, but also includes thermal insulation assembly processing. Additionally, this position will be responsible for capital equipment solicitation, selection, procurement, and installation, as well as working close with Operations and Facilities Engineering participating in process flow and facilities optimization, and capacity analysis.

•Responsible for the identification, development and implementation of process improvement initiatives and best practices for competitive operations and improvement in quality as well as direct cost areas including labor, materials and safety.
•Train people in best practices and continuous improvement methods for fabrication processes as related to new equipment installations.
•Use troubleshooting and continuous improvement techniques to resolve quality and productivity issues as related to fabrication.
•Identify and develop partnerships with key suppliers and equipment OEM’s.
•Develop business cases for new CAPEX projects.
•Ensures follow-up on initiatives and programs are completed and realized gains are maintained. This includes on-going status reviews and scheduling of reviews with all vested parties to make sure projects are implemented and savings maintained.
•Optimize Tube Fabrication operations from a technical standpoint, the individual will work closely with Operations ensuring quality parts are produced on time in the most efficient manner
•Work closely with Operations and Facilities Engineering to optimum factory layout
•Work closely with Operations on production capacity analysis (i.e. understand how proposed projects impact existing capacity and recommend capacity improvements and/or expansion needs and requirements).
•Responsible for fixture design (e.g. weld fixtures, trim fixtures and check fixtures) – this includes both managing outside contractors (design, build, and qualification), and SolidWorks or ProE design work.
•CAPEX (Capital Expenditure) planning and execution – identify needs, solicitation, evaluation, selection, CAPEX submittal, installation, and hand-off to operations
•Setup reduction
•Could potentially come in contact with hazardous chemicals.
•Any other tasks as required fulfilling Lincoln Industries' Beliefs and Drivers.
Education and/or Experience:
Expected:
•Bachelor’s degree in engineering (mechanical or industrial preferred)
•Minimum of 3- 5 year’s experience in a manufacturing (tube fabrication including welding and fixture design) using continuous improvement
•Experience in LEAN manufacturing processes
•CAPEX planning, selection, justification, and implementation
•Project management
•Familiar with Bill of Operations/parts standards requirements ProE or SolidWorks
•Ability to build/maintain strong relationships with all levels of the organization
Preferred:
•Experience in fabrication industry. tube bending experience.
•Experience in plating industry.
