DeltaTech Controls is a leading global supplier of operator interface control solutions for off-road vehicle OEM’s. Our core products include vehicle electronic control systems, electronic joysticks, multi-function grips, and electronic displays. We currently have an exciting opportunity for an outgoing, self-motivated individual to join our engineering team as a Mechanical Designer.

Core products include vehicle electronic control systems, electronic joysticks, multi-function grips, and electronic displays.

Education, Experience and Skills:

Minimum of a 2 year Drafting and Design Certificate.
4 years design experience, preferably in high volume production products with stamped and injection molded components.
Strong working knowledge of Pro/E Wildfire 2.0 or higher.
Strong Pro/E Surfacing Skills.
Modeling for plastic injection molding process, assembly tolerance analysis, and production fixture design is required.
Candidates must also have exceptional written and verbal communications skills, strong organizational skills and the ability to work in a fast paced self-directed environment.

As a Mechanical Designer you will be responsible for;

Pro/E modeling, component, assembly drawings, production fixture design and procurement for new product introductions.
Provide input to Project Management and Mechanical Engineering Lead on project performance against established milestones.
Works on project from concept through production release.
Works with lead engineer and manufacturing engineering to ensure the manufacturability of the product and takes ownership of any design challenges brought forward during proto, pilot and full production stages of project.
Prepares assembly and component drawings for manufacturing.
Coordinates and actively participates in all activities associated to prototype builds and proto part procurement.
Coordinates tooling quotes and part approval with tooling vendors.
Closely monitors and participates in proto builds and pre-production runs to ensure that the final assembly is correct and in accordance with the documented product design.
Participates in the redesign of existing products in an effort to reduce components or manufacturing cost, improve performance or enhance capabilities of products as assigned.
Makes recommendations to engineering lead regarding product design as it relates to tooling or manufacturability.
Continually seeks to strengthen knowledge in the use of Pro/E and in the development of joystick technology.
