| Job Description | The candidate will be involved in the development of airborne and spaceborne optical systems. Duties will include:
•Design, integration, and testing applied to the development of complex optical hardware from conceptual design through fabrication and performance evaluation
•Candidate will work on a broad range of optical problems from optical system conceptual design/ analysis, tolerancing, ray tracing, specification, oversight of optical component fabrication, and optical system alignment and testing
•The selected candidate will work amongst a multi-disciplinary team of engineers
Requirements:
•B.S. MS or PhD in Optical Engineering
•5+ years of optical design engineering or related experience
•Hands-on experience in optical measurement systems (characterization, test and validation)
•Proficient in the use of Zemax
•Previous experience with optical component fabrication, system alignment and testing
•Demonstrated experience working in multi-disciplinary engineering teams
•Excellent communication skills and the ability to produce and present professional written and oral reports
Desirables:
•Previous experience designing complex optical systems
•Experience programming in IDL and Python |
