Job Description | This Senior Scientist will engage in all aspects of HTs research and development efforts, including i) experimental design and execution, ii) assay optimization both at the binding assay level and the integration of new instrumentation , iii) data evaluation and analyses, and iv) other contributions to advancing the companys immune-signaturing technologies. The successful candidate will have excellent analytical, problem solving skills and a track record of applying those skills to solving complex biotechnical challenges. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing individually and also within a highly collaborative, cross-disciplinary team of energetic scientists. Our ambitious research goals require aggressive timeline, that are aimed at bringing our novel product to market in 1.5 years
Responsibilities:
Perform as a senior scientist with individual, team, and leader responsibilities in testing sera or blood samples against ultra-high density microchips arrayed with non-natural sequence. Analyses will enable the discovery and development of highly specific antibody profiles indicative of distinct health states (immmuno-signatures).
Design and execute well thought-out experiments to address key analytical and procedural aspects of the technology.
Participate in obtaining, analyzing, and managing the large data sets toward in developing a robust, antibody-based, next gen diagnostic product.
Refine and optimize approaches to deliver the highest quality results, which will require interfacing with both manufacturing and biostats teams.
Troubleshoot analytic, technical, and equipment challenges as needed.
Interact closely with company managers.
Productively present data to other company researchers and executives
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Must be an innovative thinker with excellent problem solving and analytical skills
Working knowledge and abilities in biochemistry, B cell immunology, molecular biology or other discipline related to principals employed in antibody-based diagnostics.
Experience in immunoassays or other molecular assays is favorable.
Experience with array technologies is highly favorable
Experience in or adaptability to high throughput molecular methodologies and lab automation is favorable.
Familiarity with statistical methods and data analysis is advantageous.
Familiarity with working through data management systems is advantageous
Strong communication and team-motivating skills are expected
Ability to effectively convey team plans, progress, and results through written and oral reporting mechanisms is needed.
Required Education and Experience:
Ph.D. degree in Biochemistry, Immunology, Molecular Biology, Cancer Biology, Biomedical Engineering, the Molecular Sciences, or related fields of study.
Two or preferably more years of laboratory experience in one or more of these areas of research, preferably in industry setting. |
