The Vice President of Clinical Development will serve as a member of the company’s collaborative executive team and lead a world class development team encompassing clinical development and regulatory affairs. This position could be located either in our New Jersey or Texas office.

Specific Responsibilities:

Lead the clinical development team for one or more late-stage Lexicon pipeline products, with oversight of all related clinical development activities

Prepare and implement clinical development plans to seek product approval and launch in the US, Europe, and other regions

Monitor pivotal trials to ensure safety, and work with clinical operations and data management to ensure timely recruitment and quality data collection

Provide clinical leadership and support for regulatory submissions, supporting dossier development and participating in interactions with FDA, EMA, and other regulatory agencies

Plan and execute activities relating to medical affairs, developing and implementing medical communication plans, publishing clinical trial results, designing and leading scientific advisory boards, and representing Lexicon to the medical community

Provide medical support for product launch and commercialization

Partner with the discovery organization and business development to achieve shared objectives

Required Experience

Licensed MD, Western degree preferred

Experience: ? 5 years of clinical development experience within the pharmaceutical/biotech industry specifically managing Phase I- Phase III trials

Experience in complex trial design across a variety of therapeutic areas
