Description
Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:

1. Operates an input/output terminal with standard keyboard to enter or obtain data from the Facilities Assignment Control System (FACS). This system consists of four components: Service Order Analysis and Control (SOAC), Loop Facilities Assignment and Control System (LFACS), Work Manager (WM), and Computer System for Mainframe Operations (COSMOS/SWITCH).

2. Analyzes requests for manual assistance (RMAs) and determines action required.

3. Accesses appropriate component(s) determined by analysis, and performs transactions, inquiries, etc. to provide facilities assignment data.

4. Formats and enters assignment section of tract and distributes only (TDO) type (RMAs) into FACS.

5. Reviews Engineering Work Orders and determines work activity required to produce construction work sheets and/or update record base inventories.

6. Adds, removes and changes outside plant facility inventory in the FACS computer based records system.

7. Establishes and completes construction work sheets in the FACS data base using appropriate transactions, inquiries and computer printouts.

8. Performs error reconciliation tasks for data common between components.

9. Performs receipt and screening functions for messages received on FACS, PREMIS (Premises Information System) and SOP (Service Order Processor) printers.

10. Removes and logs all messages.

11. Reviews messages to determine appropriate intra-office distribution.

12. Handles input type errors on messages after review. Re-routes input error type messages, via input terminal, to appropriate work group, i.e., Bus/Res/Pub Services Center, etc.

13. Files daily log sheets and completed RMAs.

14. Performs printer maintenance functions.

15. Requests and processes administrative reports from FACS and SOP.

16. Associates updated RMAs.

17. Performs maintenance change activity for working service in trouble and updates appropriate mechanized data bases with appropriate pair status.

18. Reserves outside plant facilities for Outside Plant and/or Designed Services Engineers.

19. Investigates and corrects component data base discrepancies detected by Quality Assurance Audit Reports (Cross Audits).

20. Performs miscellaneous office duties and maintains miscellaneous records, files, and administrative reports.

Training:
The following must be satisfactorily completed for title retention:
On-the-job and/or classroom training as required.
NT270 Facilities Assignment Specialist Evaluation Training.

Other Requirements:
Satisfactory performance and attendance in present job.
Satisfactory completion of a background investigation.

ADDITIONAL FACTORS TO BE CONSIDERED
Experience with outside plant records.

GENERAL WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Successful candidates require the ability to:

Work schedules tours covering Sunday through Saturday with overtime, call-outs and holiday work as required. Tour length will be 8 hours.

Work in a mechanized environment that requires using personal computers, business software applications, and perform duties with a high degree of accuracy.
