Zurich Insurance is currently looking for an AVP/Multi-line Underwriter to join our Structured Solutions Global Corporate team in New York. The AVP will analyze and underwrite new and existing Financial, Excess Casualty, Property and Liability lines of business.
Our AVP Multi-line Underwriter is responsible for:
Underwriting and analyzing new and renewal Financial, Property and Liability lines of business. The focus will be on either Financial Lines or Excess Casualty lines.
Market facing and working with all classes of business.
Administering and monitoring underwriting rules and guidelines, insurance laws and regulations and rating manual rules.
Developing and maintaining agency and broker relationships.
Working within broad limits and authorities on highly complex assignments.
Responsible for National Accounts.
Job Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
Bachelors Degree Preferred
8+Years of Related Experience.
Experience with Financial Lines or Excess Casualty lines
Multi-line experience.
Strong broker relationships
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
In-depth knowledge of line/s of business and legal and regulatory guidelines.
Strong negotiation skills.
Strong knowledge of underwriting philosophy, techniques, national/local filing
regulations and guidelines.
Ability to effectively assess risk.
Ability to multi-task.
Ability to function in a team environment.
Possess knowledge of time restraints for quotes on new and renewal business.
PC literate.
Demonstrated technical knowledge and skills reflective of progression of positions of increasing responsibility.
Solid knowledge of processing methods and workflow procedures, and basic knowledge of insurance underwriting and regulations for assigned territories.
Knowledge of time restraints for quotes on new and renewal business.
Must be able to function effectively in team environment.
CPCU and ARM a plus. |
