What are the job responsibilities? The candidate will report to the Head of CBVA Valuation.
The individual will have primary responsibility for:
1. Managing a staff of 2-3 actuaries
2. Timely and accurate reporting of monthly Statutory Reserves, C3P2 RBC requirements and Rating Agency Capital.
3. Presenting results in a clear and effective manor to the Senior Leaders.
4. Continually improving the existing attribution framework in order to better understand the key drivers behind Statutory results as well as changes in Distributable Earnings and LOC requirements.
5. Creating new analytics and reports that deepen our understanding of our metrics.
6. Identifying and subsequently improving inefficient processes in order to deliver accurate results faster.
7. Performing sensitivity analysis to determine key risks to the business.
8. Actively representing the team on projects and delivering relevant impacts in a timely manner.
9. Accurate and consistent completion of Rating Agency Capital surveys.
10. Submission of C3P2 RBC requirements to the NAIC as well as state of domicile.
11. Building effective controls and checks around all of our processes.
12. Ensuring that documentation is current and appropriate
13. Tracking the emergence of regulatory requirements
Who is our ideal candidate? The candidate should:
• Be a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries with 5-10 years of experience.
• Be experienced with managing and leading individuals effectively.
• Be highly analytical and exhibit strong oral and written communication skills.
• Be a self-starter who takes initiative, is detailed oriented and values accuracy.
• Be passionate in learning new concepts.
• Exhibit a high degree of integrity and hold themselves accountable for commitments and results.
• Be intellectually creative with superior problem solving skills
• Have effective communication skills and the ability to interact well with individuals from other functional areas
• Present ideas and data completely and clearly
• Be able to handle shifting priorities
