Baltimore Aircoil Company is a global manufacturer of customized, commercial and industrial air conditioning, refrigeration and industrial process cooling equipment, with corporate headquarters located near Columbia, Maryland. BAC is currently searching for an Advanced Project Manufacturing Engineer at its corporate headquarters.

Responsible for assigned manufacturing related projects which apply to all BAC plants in areas that include, but are not limited to, application of Lean practices, product improvements, new processes, equipments/methods, safety and environment issues, materials, and planning and information systems. Initiate and lead profit improvement projects, including the preparation of Capital Expenditure Requests with financial justification for new technology, advanced equipment and/or processes. Lead implementation of the new technologies, equipment and/or processes at all assembly plants in North America. Act as internal consultant to plants on manufacturing related issues. Assist with strategic plans and studies.

Specific responsibilities include:

Manage major industrial/manufacturing projects that apply to all BAC plants and licensees worldwide;

Working with Marketing and Engineering, assist in design of new and/or redesigned products and development of manufacturing plans to include manufacturing procedures, tooling and fixtures, initial labor estimates, transportation and scheduling;

Manage implementation of above mentioned processes and systems in all BAC plants in North America as required;

Initiate profit improvement projects related to materials, labor, overhead and equipment;

Facilitate communication of manufacturing information between plants in an effort to share knowledge/benefits company-wide;

Assist Plant Managers on capital budgets, equipment selection and plant layout;

Prepare Capital Expenditure Requests, including financial justification for new and innovative equipment and processes as well new plants;

Act as manufacturing consultant to management and subsidiary plants in all BAC manufacturing processes, equipment, tooling, and strategic plans and studies;

Responsible for identifying, initiating and managing profit improvement projects;

Research, evaluate and specify new technology and/or equipment for process improvement projects;

Utilize advanced programming tools such as Microsoft VBA to streamline data analysis and reporting functions;

Audit existing processes for conformance to standards;

Assist with onsite training of plant personnel on new equipment and/or processes, and

Evaluate ways to streamline office processes to eliminate waste.



MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor of Science in Manufacturing, Industrial or Mechanical Engineering or related field, or academic equivalent.
5 years' experience in sheet metal fabrication and assembly and process improvement.
Demonstrated project management skills and sound technical judgment.
Proficiency using Windows applications and MS Office, specifically VBA, Access, Excel.
Ability to employ continuous improvement tools, including Lean and TPS in a manufacturing environment.
