Guardian’s Science and Technology Center, in Carleton Michigan, was opened in 2000 and continues to develop innovative glass products for the residential, commercial, and interiors applications, as well as, the transportation, solar and electronics markets.
We are currently searching for an experienced Advanced Quality Engineer to be responsible for facilitating, and coordinating advanced quality activities for development of new products and technologies, as well as, variants of existing technologies. The primary products are glass related assemblies and components for the architectural, electronics, solar and transportation markets. The position will be housed at Guardian’s Science and Technology Center in Carleton, Michigan. As part of the Systems Innovation Group, this person would report to the Advanced Quality Manager.
Specific responsibilities will include: •Understanding customer specifications and expectations
•Creation of Design Verification Plans (DVP&R)
•Experience with APQP
•Execution of Design Verification Plans
•Coordination of testing which might include plant lab facilities, corporate lab facilities and/or 3rd party test labs when necessary.
•Compilation and reporting of test results or conclusions internally or externally as required.
•Define new testing methods or protocols for new products.
•Development of gaging concepts and designs
•Development of gaging specifications
•Leading FMEA development
•Leading Control Plan development
•Supporting development of standardized work instructions for new products and processes
•Supporting DFSS principle incorporation into new processes and equipment
•Ensuring developed processes have high FTC
Job Requirements :
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and traits:
Required: •Technical degree or equivalent experience
•Minimum of 5 Years of quality systems experience
•Ability to employ statistical methods and analysis
•Ability to read and interpret product drawing dimensions and specifications.
•Familiarity with testing standards (ASTM, ANSI, etc…) and test equipment
•Metrology and measurement system analysis
Desired in Addition:
•Knowledge of glass as a material
•Glass processing knowledge (tempering, laminating, and fabrication)
•Six Sigma |
