Agios MBA Summer Internship – Business Development & Product Planning
Agios Pharmaceuticals (www.agios.com) in Cambridge, Massachusetts, is the first biopharmaceutical company dedicated to drug discovery based on targeting cancer metabolism, which offers the potential for a new class of oncology therapeutics targeting metabolic pathways critical to cancer cell growth, proliferation and survival. Since 2008, Agios has built a portfolio of first-in-class cancer metabolism programs, and has established industry-leading capabilities for studying dysregulated metabolism in cancer and other diseases.
Agios is offering a summer internship position to a first-year MBA student looking for an entrepreneurial career path or entry into the biotech industry. The summer intern at Agios will have the unique opportunity to work closely with both the Business Development and New Product Planning functions at Agios. This enables the intern to fully capture the experience of working in a dynamic, fast-paced biotech company and to interact with various cross-functional teams, including the management team, clinical development, R&D, and legal groups.
Actual assignments will be determined during the internship based on Agios priorities and candidate interest & experience, but could include:
- Identification and evaluation of novel opportunities to expand and secure funding for Agios portfolio based on in-depth primary and secondary research that informs technical, market, and strategic fit to Agios
- Support Product Planning activities for Agios' programs, including revenue forecast modeling, competitive intelligence, pricing and reimbursement analysis, and assessment of market trends. This is an excellent opportunity to understand commercial aspects of preclinical programs
Eligibility:
- Available for employment from June 4th through August 10th
- Authorized to work in the United States
- MBA candidate with 2-3 years of consulting or life sciences industry experience
- Life sciences degree (PhD, MD, or Bachelors) is a plus
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent project management skills and ability to multi-task and deal with ambiguity
- Experience with commercial and scientific assessment of market /product opportunities
- Proactive, entrepreneurial and a can do attitude |
