Please note this position requires extensive company paid training for a minimum of 3 months in our Maryland facility.
The ACS will stay current on publications released by USP, FDA, ICH and other pertinent regulating bodies to ensure the Analytical Chemistry Laboratory complies in the areas of analytical applications, validation guidelines, and documentation practices.
The ACS person will have extensive knowledge in liquid & gas chromatography, spectroscopy, physical chemistry. He or she will have advanced knowledge in understanding of experimental design, chemical theory, and analytical instrumentation.
The ACS will evaluate new testing applications and instrumentation, either developing methods or adopting compendial methods. This person will aid in transferring these new methods into a Quality Control function for routine use. The ACS will ensure these methods were validated and/or verified and all parameters are most efficient for mass quantities of samples.
This person should have knowledge of statistical techniques, such as data trend analysis and proficiency in reviewing and interpretation of laboratory data. The ACS will assist in troubleshooting of instrumentation malfunctions. This person will develop/design calibration/qualification frequencies and techniques for all GMP instruments.
The ACS will purchase and commission analytical instrumentation. This person will develop purchasing and comparison strategies to ensure the most applicable analytical technology is fit for the purpose. The ACS will work with Management and Analytical Chemistry in scheduling of service technicians and outside contractors for set up/PM/calibrations.
The ACS will assist in training new laboratory personnel. All training performed under the supervision of the ACS will be documented in accordance with established SOPs and the Nutramax training program.
The ACS will follow Current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) documentation guidelines to record all procedures in a timely fashion. The ACS will maintain a safe working environment and will ensure that all equipment used in the testing procedures is calibrated and properly maintained.
Performance of other duties may be required for meeting company goals.
Qualifications
A Bachelor of Sciences (B.S.) or Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) or Master’s degree in Chemistry or a related science is required for the ACS position.
The ACS will have five or more years of laboratory experience in a cGMP facility, including experience with most analytical laboratory instrumentation and applications. Effective interpersonal, self-motivation skills, and the ability to interact with all levels of personnel are required. |
