Description: Position Summary:

The Company seeks an experienced professional to assume the role of Animal Surgical Technician (Associate Scientist). This is a full-time position and is based at our offices in Bothell, WA.

The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills; have the ability to work independently as well as within a team; and be able to exercise good judgment in decision-making. Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to understand and follow SOPs and scientific documents are vital to this position.

Candidate must be willing to have a flexible work schedule, including occasional weekends and holidays. Some travel may be required.

Required candidate quantifications:

Microsurgical/Surgical experience in multiple rodent survival research models
2+ years related surgical laboratory experience in contract research
Performed surgery using aseptic technique GLP experience working in contract research
Animal handling/restraint in research

Desirable candidate qualifications in addiion to the above:

Rabbit survival surgeries Academy of Surgical Research Certification at the SRS or SRT level
AALAS Certification at the ALAT/LAT level
Associates Scientist Degree, for example Associates in Veterinary Technology
Behavioral studies such as Von Frey
Experience using common software programs
Understanding of and ability to apply fundamental mathematical concepts
