Application Engineer

Job Description
This position requires applying a thorough understanding of the Snow and Ice Control Industry, Central Hydraulic Systems and their required components to specific applications and situations. There is daily interaction with customers, Zone Sales Managers, divisions, Customer Service Managers, purchasing and assembly personnel.

Keep accurate records of system quotes maintained to ISO standards

Coordinate delivery dates for complete systems to meet customers' requirements and shop's capabilities

Bundle stock, sourced and customer components into customer specific Central Hydraulic Systems

Read interpret and build central hydraulic systems based upon customer supplied specifications

Troubleshoot system operation with customers

Assist in monitoring and requesting inventory adjustments

Interact daily with customers, outside sales personnel (ZSMs and MSs), divisions, Customer Service Managers, purchasing and assembly personnel

Assist in product assembly and test as required by the Operations Manager - S&I Division

Provide training for customers on site, some travel required

Provide input on system design to product development team(s)

Assist in the creation of advertising and technical documentation

Coordinate with vendors on system material requirements

Perform other duties as assigned

Bachelor's Degree in an engineering or industrial related field of study or equivalent work related experience and certifications

Previous work experience in a Muncie MDC or MPC a plus

IFPS Certification a plus

Competency in open and closed center hydraulics

Strong mechanical and electrical inclination

Knowledge of fluid power and 12VDC systems a plus

Experience or interest in customer sales and service

Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Freidman Systems

Ability to think critically regarding system design and trouble shooting

Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing

Flexibility to effectively adapt to changing conditions and job assignments

Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with others

Familiarity with competitor products a plus

Ability to work well with others, display a ""can do"" attitude, and make positive contributions to the department
