Job Description | We are seeking a well-trained and motivated cell and molecular biologist to become a member of an interdisciplinary group of scientists and engineers at Essen BioScience that are developing innovative quantitative assays for neurobiology. The successful candidate will be responsible for running experiments and analyzing data from assays that are created doing team-based science. Experience using primary and/or iPSC-derived neurons to probe neuronal function and a basic understanding of neuroscience and pharmacology is preferred.

Education, training, experience:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
• An understanding and experience doing hypothesis-driven scientific investigation in neuroscience and/or cell biology is preferred.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to efficiently prioritize multiple projects and adjust work load accordingly is essential.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet mutually agreeable deadlines is essential.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills coupled with the ability to present scientific results in a clear, concise manner is essential.
• Proficiency in the use of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and statistical software is essential.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
• BA or BS degree plus hands on lab experience in cell and molecular biology.
• Experience performing cell-based assays as part of a project is highly desirable. |
