HOERBIGER Corporation of America, Inc, is the design and manufacturer group for compressor valves, rings and packings and compression related technology supporting North and South America.
We have an immediate need for an Applications Engineer for our Technical Services Department located at our Pompano Beach, FL Corporate Offices.
Summary: This position designs and coordinates machinery components such as valves, unloaders, rings, packing cases and packing for customers based on sound engineering principles. Works closely with, and supports the sales force in meeting customer demands.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: Other duties may be assigned.
Selects, designs, and recommends products to the customer, based on customer needs and requirements consistent with products manufactured by the Company in accordance with sound and accepted engineering principles, directives, and control.
Works closely with the Key Account Managers and/or Customer in obtaining pertinent information and data, and any other preliminary information critical to the inquiry (quote) or sale.
Organize and compile specifications as they relate to the design of product. Prepare calculations and data for mathematical calculations, and insure completeness and correctness of calculations based on given input.
Responsible for forwarding work instructions to the Drafting department.
Works with Methods Technician, as required, in preparing cost estimates and quotations.
Provide technical assistance, to interpret, analyze and resolve manufacturing and field operating problems.
When required, must be available to travel with/or without the Account Manager in solving field problems.
Prepares reports, maintain records, files and a reference.
Keeps abreast of, and informed, on the latest developments, germane to the engineering fields as they relate and impact on the Company’s product line.

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university in engineering; and three to four years related Compressor Application experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Broad engineering experience in the field of gas compressors, to include product and valve design, manufacturing, and quality assurance is prefered.
