Job Description | The purpose of this position is to provide engineering support for all aspects of assigned product line to ensure functionality, quality, cost, and schedule by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
•Prepares preliminary engineering review reports to substantiate that member section properties meet the span, spacing, and design load specified on a specific time schedule.
•Determines from the contract documents, project location, model and local building codes, and national standards the design pressures for product application.
•Advises internal and external customers on product selection and its appropriate installation.
•Provides guidance to all customers on product modification to satisfy project conditions and requirements.
•Leads the production of or produces CAD drawings of special application and detailing, custom die production, installation instruction, and test mockup review.
•Communicates with others in the organization and customers to jointly determine customer's needs and solution.
•Assists with the development of product design and functionality.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This job has no direct supervisory responsibilities.
Education/Experience:
Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school in construction technology or mechanical engineering plus 1 - 3 year in drafting, plan reading, estimating, and testing in commercial construction industry; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Bachelor's degree in construction technology or mechanical engineering preferred.

An individual is occasionally required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The travel required for this position is 15%. |
