Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Applications Engineer to work in our Reserve Power business unit.
Essential Job Duties
Technical Support – Assist customers, marketing managers, sales, and customer service with technical inquiries involving battery sizing, product characteristics, application support, etc. This task requires phone inquiries, email correspondence, and on rare occasions site visits.
Application Software Support – Work as the project leader on our Battery Sizing and Configuration program (BSP). Develop specifications for new functionality and work with IT on implementation in addition to bug fixes. This task also involves database maintenance, development of training material, and supporting customer inquiries for program
General Project Support – Work alone or in a team environment on routine projects which may include energy storage, development of product ratings, battery FAQ, and other application related projects.
Marketing Support - Assist Sales and Marketing with product literature, review of customer testing requirements, and technical proposals.
Required Skills
Working knowledge of EnerSys products a plus including Pb-acid, Ni-Cad, and Lithium types
A general understanding of Internet based programs and their developed is a plus
A general understanding of basic mechanical structures is a plus
Ability to communicate clearly both written and orally with all customers and employees
Problem solving techniques
Required Experience
Bachelors Degree in an Engineering discipline and/or equivalent experience
Minimum 5 years experience in a related field
Must have an excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of programs
