The Assay Development Scientist will be hands-on, creative, analytical, methodical in execution, and highly self-motivated. The individual will play a key role in the development of a microarray platform for detecting and quantifying somatic mutations and copy number variations in cancers. The individual will work cross-functionally to interface with the assay team, bioinformatics group and operations. Experience with developing DNA-based amplification assays, bioinformatics and transferring products to manufacturing is highly desirable. The successful applicant will be creative, well-organized, methodical, analytical, attentive to detail, and have excellent communication skills.
Requirements:
Extensive experience with assay development, molecular biological techniques, and developing analytical tools for in-process QC. Wet-bench skills and the desire to continue working in the lab are essential. Proven track record in problem solving, experimental design and data analysis. Familiarity with transferring products to manufacturing is a strong plus. Works well as part of a team, in a high-paced, pressured environment with a keen sense of prioritization and intuition of the trade-offs between timelines with scientific rigor.
Demonstrated working as part of a multidisciplinary team with at least 5 years of industrial experience
Education: Biochemistry, Molecular Biology or related
BS/MS with 7-10 yrs experience
PhD with 5+ yrs experience
