Assistant Product Manager – Firearms

Job Description
Remington Arms is the leading manufacturer and seller of Sporting Firearms, Ammunition and Accessories in the country. We currently have an opening for an Assistant Product Manager – Firearms in our Madison, NC location.

Primary Responsibilities
The Assistant Product Manager is responsible for helping to develop and implement strategic and tactical marketing plans for the domestic firearms line. This position interfaces on a daily basis with Manufacturing, Systems, Planning, Customer & Consumer Service and Marketing Communications to accomplish key objectives. The Assistant Product Manager will also work closely with Press Relations and must be able to effectively interface with members of the outdoor press. Requires 20% - 25% domestic travel.

• Maintain competitive pricing and program matrices

• Maintain competitive files and information

• Maintain and issue Product Team Minutes and Agenda

• Issue product specifications

• Issue product order information (SAP)

• Establishing packaging specifications and user manuals

• Participate in the development of strategic planning documents

• Margin analysis

• Product forecasts

• Product positioning

• Catalog production

• Price list and sales program production

• Maintaining trade show displays (SHOT, IWA, NRA,SCI) and coordinate sample needs

• Sales and Customer support

• Maintain and develop sample lists and requirements

• Quality audits

• Writers Seminar product presentations

• Sales Meeting product presentations

• Press Release review

• Bachelor’s degree or university program certificate; five to seven years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.

• Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.

• Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.

• Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.

• Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.

• Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

• Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) software.

• Public Speaking Skills

• Motivation, self-discipline and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

• Extensive attention to detail and follow-through on key objectives.

• Ability to prepare and deliver presentation materials to senior level management.

• Solid understanding and grasp of technical concepts as they relate to product design and manufacturing.
