Assoc. Scientist/Scientist, Purification Process Development
Job Description
Job Description Within Process Science, the Purification Process Development lab designs, optimizes scales and transfers downstream processes for mAb development programs. We seek an experienced process development assoc. scientist to join the Purification Process Development group. The candidate will collaborate with colleagues in Process Science and Manufacturing departments to design, optimize and scale downstream processes for transfer to manufacturing. The candidate will design and execute well-controlled experiments, compiling, analyzing and reporting results to his/her supervisor in a clear and concise fashion. In addition, he/she will participate in weekly departmental meetings, providing updates to the group. West Coast Candidates Preferred
Qualifications Basic qualifications are a B.S./M.S./Ph.D. in biochemistry, chemical engineering or related discipline with a minimum of 2 - 5 years of industrial experience (depeneding on degree). Qualifications include experience in downstream process development including one or more of the following operations: primary recovery, chromatography, nano-, micro- and tangential flow filtration. Proficiency with DOE and in-process analytical assay methods (spectrophotometry, SDS-PAGE, HPLC, ELISA) is preferred. Experience with radiolabeling of proteins is a plus. A demonstrated ability in competent execution and recording of scientific experiments is essential, as is the ability to read and adapt methods from the scientific literature to solve problems. Good organizational, time management and written and oral communication skills are also required.
