Associate Director – Bioanalytical

Job Description
We are looking to add an Associate Director – Lab Operations Bioanalytical as we continue grow our global DMPK department. As an Associate Director, your daily job duties would include the following:


Manage the day to day operations of the Bioanalytical Laboratory to establish and track performance metrics, and drive process improvements in order more effectively service our clients.

Oversight of staff located in Indianapolis, IN.

Works with the Director to ensure the scientific quality and expertise of the department.

Responsible for the allocation of resources (personnel, space, and equipment) in order to meet or exceed budget expectations.

Member of the leadership team for the Bioanalytical responsible for setting out the vision for the organization, for developing operational plans in order to meet the business long and short term objectives, and for execution of these plans. Implements the necessary strategies to accomplish these goals.

Initiates, plans, and implements staff development programs. Develops department capabilities and resources to meet both present and future needs.

Tactically assigns resources within the department (personnel, space, equipment), implements programs, and drives process improvement to assure financial and budget expectations are met.

Develop plans for and drives continuous process improvement efforts in the laboratory to ensure competitiveness in the market place. Drives reduction in turnaround times and improvements in quality in the operations.

Education/Qualifications The Required Education for the Associate Director – Bioanalytical includes:

BS degree in Chemistry or related field plus 10 years related experience to include at least
5+ years of people management experience.

MS or PhD would be a plus

Knowledge of GLP and regulatory guidelines.

Prior Bioanalytical LCMS experience is preferred

Experience Required Experience/Skills for the Associate Director – Bioanalytical includes:

5+ years of People management experience

Prior Bioanalytical LCMS method development experience is a plus.

Familiar with the use of standard laboratory equipment and analytical instrumentation, including LC/MS, HPLC and GC/MS is needed.

Skilled in customer service communication.

Drug development experience

GLP knowledge and experience

Skilled time management, planning and budgeting.

Experienced in leading and developing people

Proven leadership to rally an organization around specific goals and energize them to achieve those goals

Skilled time management, planning, and budgeting.

Skilled in negotiating.

Experience with Six Sigma or other process improvement methodologies is a plus
