Job Description
Tait Towers/FTSI is an industry leader in automation equipment and controls for theater, themed attractions, motion picture, and touring production markets. We design, manufacture and install automation machinery and controls that set the industry’s standards for excellence and innovation. We are a dynamic employer with an opportunity available for an Automation Engineer. Individual will be responsible for assisting in the design, programming, integrating and configuring hardware and software solutions for assigned projects.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Learn and operate Navigator Automation software.
Train clients on installation and configuration of Navigator Service and GUI software.
Setup control systems of new machinery to operate in a safe and controlled manner
Perform validation tests on new features of software and maintain all necessary documentation
Develop and provide technical approaches and designed used for specific new projects.
Perform onsite programming of client projects in conformance with project specification, artistic consideration and strict adherence to safety procedures.
Work with R&D, electrical designers, integrators, etc., on the enhancement modification or development of controller boards, hardware and other devices as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
Must have a strong understanding of established electrical and electronics principles.
Experience with board level design, evaluation, troubleshooting and repair along with Analog and Digital I/O, high speed serial communication and filtration circuit design.
Background in computer control of variable speed motor drives in open and closed loop control, hydraulics control and pneumatics a plus
Experience with industrial communications protocols such as Modbus, Ethercat, K-bus, CAN, Profibus, etc a plus
AutoCAD and 3D Modeling Software
Basic computer network equipment and network configuration.
Electrical troubleshooting and the knowledge of using multi-meters, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers.
Ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast paced and often hectic environment.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Entertainment experience a plus.
Willing to travel up to 60% of the time.
Valid US Passport.
