Iowa Mutual Insurance Company (an affiliate of The Motorists Insurance Group) seeks a Business Analyst to join our Information Technology team in our DeWitt, Iowa office.
This position will:
Analyze and flowchart processes to document and evaluate systems.
Consult with business representatives, analysts and programmers on specifications for a project and document technical/functional requirements.
Recommend system changes which improve work-flow.
Establish test plans, test or facilitate user testing of system changes, and coordinate implementation maintaining adequate documentation.
Communicate process and procedure changes resulting from project implementation.
Conduct follow-up studies to evaluate changes.
Requirements:
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong listening skills with ability to gather information to understand business needs.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Ability to effectively develop relationships and influence others without authority.
Ability to solve problems logically and develop creative solutions to challenging problems.
Self motivated, flexible and receptive to learn new concepts, analyze their application and test assumptions.
General knowledge of computers and the insurance industry.
College graduate with major in insurance, business administration or computer science is preferred.
At least one year of MIS or previous insurance experience is desired.
