Business Development Manager

Job Description
REPORT TO: President & CEO


Responsibilities include finding and developing new business opportunities and partnerships for PYRAMID, continued development of ongoing relationships with current clients, and developing and implementing sales, marketing and advertising strategies.


Market and generate sales for formulation development, analytical development, clinical and commercial fill/finish operations.

Develop and execute strategies to integrate Pyramid business objectives, execute related business plans to retain and achieve profit

Provide market feedback to Executive Management regarding competitive business, prospect needs and generate product development ideas

Collaborate with Manufacturing, Project Management, Quality, Analytical Services and clients to meet the requirements of each project.

Make operating and business decisions needed to achieve business unit results in coordination with Executive Management

Manage the successful integration of multi-disciplined team functions by providing tools needed for the business unit to accomplish stated objectives

Present business results and initiatives to the Pyramid management

Develop and implement strategic communication initiatives, including but not limited to: print and online advertising, direct marketing, trade shows, website and newsletters.

Maintain Pyramid’s quarterly news letter focusing on key developments within the organization and the pharmaceutical industry.

Prepare schedules for Sales, Marketing and Advertising and Business Development related activities, including conferences and sales trips.

Prepare and maintain sales/marketing department budgets.

Build a professional and trusting relationship with Pyramid’s clients

Development and implement site revenue forecasting tools with key metrics


Education: Minimum BS in Biological Science or related field.

Experience: Minimum of seven (7) years experience in business development for cGMP manufacturing services (CMO) or a related field.

Experience with developing and implementing marketing and advertising strategies.

Experience writing and negotiating high level contracts, from one time agreements to multi-year supply contracts.

Skills: Must possess excellent presentation skills
