| Job Description | Description: Primary Purpose: To provide overall strategic, financial, and sales direction for the business unit and ensure the overall profitability of the business unit.
Management Responsibilities: (1) Reports to an Operations Manager and plays an active role on the company management team (2) Develops and successfully executes annual business plans (3) Oversees daily management of operations and activities of the business unit (4) Responsible for profits and loss of the business unit (5) Responsible for defining budgets for the business unit and ensuring they are met (6) Works with Business Development team to initiate and coordinate strategic business development activities (7) Manages all business unit work flow related to projects (8) Approves all proposals prior to delivery to clients (9) Interprets policies and procedures and ensures they are followed within the business unit (10) Oversees training and development of subordinate staff (11) Oversees and manages all business unit staff (12) Review associated business unit manager staffing changes (hiring, terminations) and supply recommendations to Company President (13) The position is also responsible for major project proposal development (14) Responsible for project-related purchasing, project invoicing and accounts receivable tracking
Engineering Responsibilities: This position can be responsible for conceptual design and technical review of projects and directing all engineering services provided to clients. This includes both internal design efforts and client reviews
Requirements:
•Education – A BS degree in engineering is preferred. Business degree or other technical degree with equivalent experience may be substituted (EET)
•Experience – 8+ years of experience is preferred including project management and/or running a profit and loss engineering business unit.
•A background in business development is highly desirable.
•Strong leadership and client relations skills required
•Must have experience in Controls & Automation (""hands-on"") |
