JOB OVERVIEW:
Thermal Spray Technologies is looking for a CMM Technician. The CMM Technician will program and operate the CMM for receiving and in-process inspections. He/she will also perform mechanical measurements and report results using the CMM and other gauges as needed for first article inspection, investigation of issues, and qualification of parts or tooling.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
•Program, set up and operate CMM in order to make complex, precise measurements of materials and parts
•Verify conformance of parts to specifications and blueprints with respect to measurements
•Write and modify existing programs and create new ones as required
•Performs detailed first article inspections of prototype and production parts.
•Uses a variety of measuring instruments.
•Provides support for investigations of issues and development work.
•Assist Engineers, CNC Programmers, Technicians and Customers with qualification and validation of new or revised parts or tooling
•Interpret measurement output data and graphic data
•Summarizes results and communicates them to engineering and others as needed.
•Create and perform GR&Rs and correlation studies as needed
•Troubleshoot and contact outside technical support services for CMM software as needed.
•Adheres to ISO9001 requirements
•Assists in training others in the use of equipment.
•Performs other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
•2-year degree in Quality Control Inspection or related field is preferred.
•Ability to read, understand, and interpret blueprints and other technical data including geometric dimensioning and tolerance
•Experience programming and inspecting parts on Zeiss CMMs with Calypso 3D CAD software or similar.
•Proficient use of precision measuring tools
•Software knowledge, including Microsoft Excel and Word.
•Must adapt easily and accept new ideas quickly.
•Must be well-organized and possess the ability to multi-task to meet tight time constraints in a fast paced environment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
•Statistics knowledge (capability, gauge R&R, t-test and other comparison testing, SPC) a plus.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
•Ability to wear proper personal protective equipment (earplugs, safety glasses, respirator)
•Ability to lift 50 lbs.
