| Job Description | The Kurt J. With locations across North America, Europe, and Asia, we are a global supplier to industries, universities, and government laboratories. Our products and technologies are used for various research and production applications, including: semiconductor manufacturing, automotive coatings, night vision goggles, and solar cells. Kurt J. Lesker Company is looking for an experienced CNC Mill Machinist.
Candidates must have a minimum of 3 years CNC machining experience with a focus on quality and productivity. Experience in the vacuum industry is a plus. He or she must be self-motivated, able to work independently, and have a desire to continuously improve their skill sets and technical knowledge.
Responsibilities:
The employee will be required to set-up and operate computer numerical control (CNC) machines to fabricate metallic and nonmetallic parts. They must be familiar with a variety of CNC concepts, practices, and procedures. Ability to work with minimal supervision is required.
Key Job Elements:
•Perform complex machining operations on a CNC milling machine and have the ability to read and understand G-code.
•Post and edit CNC program to fine tune process for optimal performance
•Extensive knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerance
•Follow instructions both verbal and written.
•Verify conformance of finished work pieces to specification, using precision measuring instruments.
•Produce quality parts in a timely manner.
•Follow KJLC shop safety standards.
•Work with machinists, project managers and engineers to solve problems and improve processes.
•Proper use of cranes for overhead lifting.
Qualifications:
Required
•High school diploma or GED required, plus 3 to 5 years related machine shop experience, or equivalent education.
•Basic trigonometry and geometry mathematical machinist skills
•Detailed knowledge of CNC machining technique.
•The ability to lift up to 60 lbs.
•Proficient at reading and understand measuring devices
•Proficient at reading and understand blueprints and shop drawings
Preferred:
•Programming ability and/or experience
•Journeyman papers
•Associate degree in related field.
