Cell Biology Senior Associate

Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Sr. Research Associate to be a member of our R&D Cell Biology team. The individual will be engaged in setting up and harvesting small- (shake flasks) to large-scale (Wave bags and stirred tanks) mammalian cell cultures for protein production of our preclinical drug candidates. This position will involve the identification of optimal cell culture conditions for high protein expression and activity, as well as scale-up to progressively larger reactors. As part of the team, this individual will have the opportunity to make visible contributions to a variety of projects within the program, enjoy the opportunity to cross-train, and interact with a knowledgeable and friendly multidisciplinary team of scientists.

Basic qualifications:

BS/MS degree in Biotechnology, or related fields

5-7 years of academic/industrial experience with large-scale protein expression in Wave bags (10L, 20L) and stirred tanks (50L, 250L); experience with single-use technology is a plus

Experience with evaluation and implementation of harvesting techniques to ensure protein quality and recovery

Proven experience with cell culture medium optimization and cell production scale-up is required

Cell culture experience with a variety of mammalian cells, including CHO and hybridoma lines; ability to develop stable cell-lines is a plus

Highly analytical mind, attention to detail, and organization skills are critical

Ability to multi-task and organize multiple experiments simultaneously

Collaborative and proactive attitude

Ability to work independent was well as with a team
