Claims Manager

Job Description
Summary: Manage staff of Adjusters handling Non-Resident auto program which provides private and commercial auto liability coverage to Mexican citizens traveling into the United States and Canada. Handle litigation claims, attend mediation hearings, Court trials in various States.

Core Responsibilities:

? Investigate, evaluate and settle case load.

? Monitor all claims denied to ensure decision for declination are appropriate and
supported by a complete claims investigation.

? Monitor all written communications for promptness, properly worded and fair as
required by The Texas Fair Claims Practices Act.

? Handle all claims in litigation, compromise such claims directly with plaintiff counsel or assist defense counsel in the discovery stages geared toward preparing the case for
mediation.

? Cases tried to a conclusion before a judge and jury. Press settlement in efforts to avoid
the adverse venues which are inherent in our niche of the insurance industry.

? Assist in coordinating the required functions, design and work processes necessary for
moving to new business recording system.

? Maintain weekly reports, detailing open to close ratio.

? Maintain file reserve reports weekly.

? Prepare job performances and provide coaching and mentoring on direct reports.

? Provide VP of business unit with annual budget reports for Claims Department.

Minimum Education and Experience:

? 4 year College Degree in related field.

? 5+ years Claims Management experience.

? Experience in Property and Casualty Insurance.

? Bi Lingual with Spanish/English both verbal and written required.


Physical and Visual Activities: Good speaking and hearing skills; ability to sit for long
periods at a designated work station; ability to travel; good vision; finger dexterity; some lifting required.

Environmental/Atmospheric Conditions: Normal office conditions with busy atmosphere.
