|BASIC JOB DESCRIPTION:
Plan, conduct and manage the development of the Combustion Turbine business by overseeing the product, process and personnel development within the department. Provide hardware and software designs for combustion turbine retrofits, including those with DryLoNox solutions. Develop standard solutions for combustion turbine retrofits, including DCS systems and PLC. Provide proposal support, field service support and sales support for combustion turbine efforts. Serve as consultant to senior management and customers regarding potential applications and resolution of complex problems.
Typical duties/responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Execute retrofit orders for combustion turbine automation systems, including DLN.
Develop standard solutions that may be used for future orders at reduced costs.
Support the proposal department by reviewing specifications and providing recommendations for solutions, and labor costs.
Support the field service department through training in combustion turbine service, including DLN.
Support the sales department by accompanying them to customer sites and trade shows.
Train other turbine automation engineers on combustion turbine engineering, including DLN.
Lead or participate in Capture Teams for Target Projects in the Power Generation market segment.
Take leadership role in the development of DLN expertise within the BU.
Bachelor's Degree in engineering. Advanced degree preferred.
Minimum of 12 years of experience in Sales, Systems and/or Products in the power generation/power automation field.
Requires strong communication skills to influence managers and negotiate with customers and interact with high levels in the client organization.
Requires in-depth understanding of corporate and business unit technical and commercial strengths, interrelationships with markets and ability to resolve complex problems.
Requires strategic planning skills and ability to translate corporate and business unit goals and objectives into realistic marketing and sales plans.
Have established contacts to Local Business Units involved in Systems business and to ABB Engineering Centers and Focused Factories
