Commercial Underwriter II

Job Description
Basic Functions:
As a Commercial Underwriter II with the Commercial Lines Division you will evaluates and selects commercial insurance contracts for assigned Agents, within established level of authority, to ensure the success, profitability and retention of accounts. You will also assist Agents and Employees to understand and adhere to the company’s underwriting philosophy and service to Policyholders.

Qualifications:

Candidates meeting below minimum qualifications may be considered as a Commercial Underwriter I (D07) or meeting above minimum qualifications as a Commercial Underwriter III (D11).

Bachelor's degree, or equivalent, required.

One to two years of previous experience in commercial lines underwriting, including a good working knowledge of multiple commercial lines of insurance, or equivalent, required.

Successful completion of General Insurance Program and willingness to enroll and complete the Associate in Underwriting designation required.

Lifting: 0-20 lbs. Occasional (<20%); 20-50 lbs. Occasional (<20%); Over 50 lbs. Occasional (<20%)
Driving: Rarely
Pushing/Pulling: Occasional (<20%)
Manual Keying/Data Entry: Often (20-50%)
