Job Description | Summary
Nufern is looking for a hands on controls engineer with a background in PLC programming, chemical processing, and electrical design to maintain and improve machinery used in the manufacture of optical fiber, optical fiber preforms, and gyroscope coils.
Education
BSEE or equivalent experience.
Experience
At least 5 years of designing and maintaining machine controls in a manufacturing environment. Experience with optical fiber manufacturing is a big plus.
Knowledge / Skills
Must be proficient in PLC programming and troubleshooting. Siemens, Omron, or Allen-Bradley PLC experience will be a plus. Wonderware InTouch or Omron CX-Supervisor software experience will be another plus.
Must have strong experience designing and preparing electrical diagrams for plant wiring and machine wiring.
HMI Design.
Panel design and layout.
Process control, including liquid and gas control of pressure and temperature, etc.
Training of operators.
Preparing documentation using Autocad Electrical or EPLAN.
Knowledgeable of electrical and safety design standards (NFPA, NEC, IEC/EN 62061, etc.)
Strong fundamental understanding of good design practices.
