Controls Engineer

Job Description
The successful employee will be able to will be able to produce technical control schematics, develop BOM's and program PLC's and HMI's. Machine control and PLC programming will involve servo motion control, VFD's, pneumatics and hydraulics. This employee will assist in creating engineering documentation required for the fabrication of specialized machinery in a job shop atmosphere.

The equipment designed and built for our customers is used in the manufacture of a variety of products. Primary customers served are in the HVAC and appliance industry and involve bending, forming and assembly of sheet metal products.

This position will require the individual to interface directly with the customer to coordinate and determine design criteria, performance standards, project schedules and product acceptance for each project. Internally this employee will interact with other engineers and shop personnel involving control aspects and debug of specialized equipment.

Skills needed:
• 2D CAD (AutoCAD preferred)
• PLC and HMI programming (Allen Bradley preferred)
• Knowledge of N.E.C. NFPA 79
• Machine Safeguarding and Practices
• ANSI B11
• MS Office
• General computer skills

1-4 years of experience desired with a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering. This position requires a strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of industrial machinery.
