Controls Engineer

Skilled and motivated engineer desired to join a fast growing company that is expanding into new markets.

Our organization is seeking to fill a Control Systems Engineering position with responsibilities in R&D, design, test and commercialization of automated machinery for material handling operations. The candidate for this position will be involved in new product design as well as product enhancement / improvement from the concepting phase through product release.

This position includes participating in concept discussions / brainstorming and developing proof-of-concepts. It includes development and design of automated control systems, motion control systems and integration to other systems. The position will include programming PLCs & HMIs, selection of controls automation sensors / devices / components and application of motion control devices. This individual will also participate in machine prototyping / build, machine testing, beta site testing / support, deployment support as well as technical writing for design documentation.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in controls automation engineering with the ability to take ownership of tasks while providing project leadership. This individual must be capable of supporting and helping the manager to build focused dedicated project teams.

Experience managing project requirements, timelines and budgets are necessary. A ‘hands-on’ and ‘do what it takes’ attitude is paramount.
In addition to project related engineering activities, responsibilities will also include: participation in the establishment / implementation of design, documentation and process standards; the ability to provide training as needed; mentoring of others where possible; and, being capable of effective interaction with other individuals / groups in the organization.

This candidate must be detail oriented, methodical, focused and willing to work in a team environment.

What you need for this position:
? Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent work experience is required.
? 10 to 15 years’ experience in a similar position is required.
? Experience in PLC/HMI Systems programming (Mitsubishi desirable)
? Working knowledge of CAD programs (AutoCAD Electrical desirable)
? Prior experience in designing machinery from conceptual development to marketable product
? Ability to work independently and collaboratively while managing multiple activities
