Controls Technician

Job Description
•Installs, programs, and repairs Automated Fastening Machine tools, robots, and related equipment such as CNC’s, PLC’s, robot controllers, end-effectors, positioning systems, vision systems, automated fixture devices and parts orienteers/feeders, applying knowledge of electronics, electrical circuits, mechanics, pneumatics, hydraulics, and programming, using various tools, testing instruments and software.
•Reviews work order and related documents, programs, manuals, blueprints, and schematic diagrams to determine tasks to be performed and tools, equipment, and parts needed for installation, diagnostic, or repair assignment.
•Interfaces with customer's representative in a professional manner.
•Executes, troubleshoots, and corrects difficulties encountered with equipment start-up.
•Programs and/or modifies program of machine tool, peripheral device, or robot to perform specified tasks, applying knowledge of various programming languages, using laptop, teach pendant and/or keyboard or control panel of controller.
•Observes equipment to detect malfunction and rapidly repair using experience knowledge base.
•Tests electrical components, such as wiring, switches, relays, and encoders, and sensors using testing instruments and software.
•Trains customer's staff in operation of machine, robot and related equipment.
•Installs and maintains electric or pneumatic end effector tools on robot or machine tool.
•Has working knowledge of the Siemens S7 PLC and the Siemens 840D CNC along with associated programming languages and techniques.

Prerequisites:
-Technical Degree: AAS (minimum)
-Experience: 2 yrs. (hands-on)
-Must be willing to travel
-Rotating shift work may be applicable.
