Corporate Counsel

Job Description
The Marcus Corporation is currently seeking a Corporate Counsel to join our legal team. As a member of the Legal Department you will be responsible for providing legal advice and assistance to our hotel and theatre divisions in the areas of general corporate law, with a strong emphasis on real estate, and labor and employment law. Core responsibilities of this position include:

1. Provide advice and counsel on employment related litigation and charges, including drafting and review of pleadings, charge responses and discovery matters, and consultation to Human Resources professionals as to potential employment matters.
2. Handle a wide variety of complex real estate matters.
3. Draft, negotiate and review contracts between clients, vendors and other business partners.
4. Review and negotiate real estate leases and purchase documents.
5. Review and negotiate commercial purchase and sale agreements and related documentation.

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:

• Juris Doctorate from an accredited school of law
• Admission to practice law in the state of Wisconsin or eligible for admission on proof of practice elsewhere.
• 5-10 years of relevant experience in a corporate or law firm setting.
• Competence in advising business clients regarding legal requirements and risks in a collaborative work environment
• Strong organizational skills, including management of projects and workload and setting goals and priorities.
• Ability to determine practical solutions to complicated problems.
• Professional demeanor and team player with a high degree of confidentiality.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and writing skills
