Corporate Engineering Manager

Job Description
Responsibilities & Duties

Provide studies, layouts, and equipment requirements for new and upgraded processes and facilities.

Supervise a department of 1 to 6 engineers, and the Kewanna facility, which provide engineering support to all production and finishing facilities.

Research equipment and equipment components to support current and future Corporate objectives.

Qualify suppliers and engineering firms.

Develop support resources as required.

Manage the department budget.

Develop capital requirements and projects.

Lead in solving equipment, quality, infrastructure and environmental problems and issues.

Manage and participate in Maintenance Audits, Manufacturing Excellence Section Assessments, Energy Audits and Environmental Audits.

Evaluate infrastructure condition and requirements.

Manage projects as required at all Company locations.

Support and participate in Lean Manufacturing and Manufacturing Excellence activities and initiatives.

Assess acquisition opportunities, and evaluate equipment, facilities and environmental assets and liabilities.

Sell and acquire used equipment.

Approve all capital spending projects.

Qualifications

BS Engineering or equivalent, advanced degree a plus

15-20 years experience with progressively increasing responsibility in a tube or metals manufacturing or finishing facility

Excellent written and communications skills

Strong interpersonal and organizational capabilities

Strong team and leadership skills

Good computer skills including AutoCAD capability, Solidworks a plus

Knowledgeable about current power supply, drive and control equipment

Familiar with heavy manufacturing equipment

Willingness to travel approximately 30% of the time
