PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

•Provides underwriting guidance for assigned area of responsibility that demonstrates an effective balancing of Corporate profit and production objectives.
•Monitors product, class, state and Profit Center performance for assigned areas of responsibility and conducts necessary analysis developing recommendations for coverage and rate modifications to achieve targeted results.
•Working in conjunction with Product Development, actuarial staff, systems, underwriting and marketing participates as appropriate in developing state filings, rate changes and product and form modifications.
•Assists underwriters with risk analysis of referral accounts.
•Conduct regular training and development sessions designed to increase technical proficiency of underwriting staff.
•Keeps abreast of industry developments, particularly those which impact his or her area(s) of responsibility, including participation in appropriate industry meetings, seminars, and education sessions.
•Promotes consistency and quality of underwriting performance through BMAG Quality Control Program and annual Profit Centers’ audits.
•Understands BMAG’s business and the factors that affect its success.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
•Demonstrates a high level of technical underwriting skills. Ability to analyze a wide variety of situations, and present logical solutions to problems.
•Good communication and interpersonal skills.
•Well organized, efficient, able to handle multiple tasks and ability to prioritize.
•Good decision making skills.
•Ability to work with others in a cooperative manner.
•Bachelor’s Degree or more than 8 years related experience and training.
•CPCU Designation.
