Customs Compliance Supervisor

Representative Responsibilities:

Manage duty-savings programs including reconciliation, drawback and CMT vendor cost valuation to assure timely filing and accuracy

Supervise compliance team and provide required compliance oversight, guidance and testing

Analyze KPIs to recognize gains and identify targets for savings and performance improvement. Develop additional savings and efficiencies opportunities and communicate to other company partners

Oversee trade program origin validation and qualification programs

Develop and utilize internal reporting database for managing, reporting, measuring compliance activities and responding to Customs requests.

Ensure Government requirements are met for global imports (licenses, certificates, commercial invoices, etc.)

Provide assistance to Carhartt colleagues and Company’s vendors/contractors/ suppliers/factories to educate on Customs compliance.

Manage ad-hoc projects from development through completion

Interact with and manage Customs broker relationships

Research and report foreign market import/export admissibility of product, including customs duties and VAT

Assist in maintenance and update of Customs Compliance Manual

Research and advise correct use of Incoterms

Key Performance Indicators:
Timeliness and accuracy of duty-savings program filings
Satisfaction of internal customers with timeliness and quality of services provided
Positive KPI metrics and goal achievement
Flexibility, accuracy and responsiveness to new/special projects assigned
Success and development of compliance team

Entry Requirements:
Preferred: US Customs Broker license or CCS
BS/BA in Business, Accounting, Logistics, Systems or equivalent experience
7 years business experience including
4 years Customs compliance experience
2 years supervisory and/or auditing experience
General import/export or logistics knowledge
Preferred: ACE experience
Knowledge of the Harmonized Tariff Schedule and rules of origin

Working Conditions:
Normal office environment; cubicle setting
Some travel required (up to 25%)
