Job Description
Holtec International (USA) is a leading supplier of products and services to the power generation industry worldwide is looking for Design Engineer with technical background and experience with the processing equipment for remote handling operations for commercial and nuclear applications. The applicant should have experience in both the mechanical and electrical aspects of the equipment design.
The function of the Design Engineer is to develop designs and provide integration of readily available and customized equipment such as remotely operated transport carts, lifting devices, docking devices, ancillary equipment to be used in nuclear fuel storage projects.
The selected individual will be responsible for:
Preparation of the conceptual design of the equipment
Preparation of the technical specifications and design drawing packages
Preparation of the verification calculations
Development of the equipment layout in a facility
Management of interfaces between remote general designer and selected subcontractors (input data, work sequences)
Development of the scope of work and interfaces for potential subcontractors
Preparation of Operational Manuals and other Design related documentation
Integration of the interfacing equipment equipment (designed and procured)
Supervision of the designers
Interfacing with the project engineer who will perform support function
Job Requirements
Experience in designing of mechanical systems and equipment (that include electrical/servo motors, positioning devices) such as carts, elevators, shield doors and gates, airlocks and specialized equipment for commercial or nuclear applications.
Experience with automation or integration of the customized design equipment with standard readily available or existing equipment.
Knowledge of Controls and Systems such as positioning devices and interlocks
Experience with lifting cranes and cranes modifications is preferable
Bachelors/Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electro-Mechanical Engineering
EIT certification or PE registration is preferred
Minimum 5 years or more of related work experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer or Electro-Mechanical Engineer
Knowledge of the design software such as an Autocad, Solidworks or similar. Knowledge of the structural analysis code such as ANSYS is preferred.
Proficiency in written and oral communications
Extensive working knowledge of nuclear industry and regulatory codes and standards is preferred |
