Job Description
The successful candidate will be based in Houston, Texas, and accountable for the delivery of reverse engineered gas turbine parts. Working in conjunction with internal and external specialists and subcontractors, the engineer will deliver robust and differentiating manufacturing solutions to meet the business objectives of Quality, Cost and Delivery.


Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities

• Project engineering execution to defined requirements, including cost and scheduling commitments.

• Integrate and manage project engineering processes, tools and systems to
efficiently deliver gas turbine part solutions.

• Lead, coordinate and manage all engineering activity for parts in accordance with defined processes and procedures.

• Be the owner and focal point of all internal and external engineering activity relating to gas turbine part design and development, including the interface with internal customers and internal and external specialists.

• Project reporting and delivery to agreed plans and budgets.

• Detailed review of physical parts and their interfacing components to understand the form, fit and function requirements from a design perspective.

• Datum design data capture to ensure all relevant data is captured to the required level of accuracy – either working with internal or external measurement specialists.

• Detailed review of digitised data and it’s conversion to datum 3D models to ensure design intent is maintained.

• Validation of parts solutions through engineering process, calculation, analysis and
test.

• Detailed review and checking of component and assembly drawings for nominal fit and assembly tolerances.

• Review of drawings for general presentation in accordance with internal and industry drawing standards.

• The preparation and review of all engineering documentation in accordance with defined processes.

• The timely supply of project engineering data to team members and other internal and external customers.

• The issue and change control of all controlled engineering documentation, including the issue of part numbers.

• Accountable for the form, fit and function of the part to cost and quality requirements.


Experience

• Proven track record of delivering results to quality, cost and time metrics in a development project role through the application of technical knowledge and project management skills.

• Project management of engineering solutions across internal and external technical teams.

• Ability to evaluate and resolve complex gas turbine design and manufacture issues through objective review and consultation with specialist groups in order to deliver an end product fit for purpose.

• A broad understanding of industrial gas turbine component design, performance, manufacture, validation, test and repair.

• A clear understanding of the critical parameters that affect the life and performance
of a gas turbine component, with knowledge of the application of FEA/CFD in developing and validating component design.

• Technical management of engineering subcontractors specialising in the
manufacture and repair of gas turbine or industrial components.

• Detailed review of CAD models and drawings for design content and definition.

• Wide knowledge of industrial gas turbine products.


Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science/Engineering Degree in an engineering related subject with at least five years experience in the gas turbine component design and industrial manufacturing industry.

• Engineering experience in gas turbine design, development, test or repair a plus.

• Professional engineering licence (Professional Engineer, Chartered Engineer or equivalent) a plus.

• Experience with project management tools a plus.
