Description
The Development Scientist performs studies for the development, evolution and optimization of assay(s) within well-defined boundary conditions and timelines; performs and summarizes experiments independently; participates in identifying technical issues and assisting in their resolution; maintains well organized laboratory notebooks in compliance with relevant procedures; supports departmental technical infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
· Participate in development and commercialization of enzyme linked immunoassays for the Access Immunoassay system.
· Work within a project team, and take direction from a project leader or senior scientist.
· Perform experiments to demonstrate clinical utility and manufacturability of new biologic markers for the detection and/or monitoring various diseases or conditions.
· Responsible for documentation of studies performed and conclusions.
Willingness to work in a ISO9000/FDA regulated environment.
Qualifications
Requirements for a Development Scientist in Assay Development:
· Candidates must have training in the life sciences (e.g. biology, biochemistry, microbiology, or medical related sciences), clinical medicine, or some clinical experience.
· Candidates must have at least one of the following levels of experience:
o Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of experience
o Master’s degree and 0-2+ years experience
· Experience working within cross-functional teams is necessary.
· Working knowledge of statistical methods and design of experiments would be an advantage.
