This position is responsible for the development of processes and set-up books for the Die Casting department and the maintenance and utilization of the shot monitoring system to troubleshoot process-related problems.
Duties: •Develop and maintain capable set-up books for production.
•Troubleshoot die cast process problems.
•Perform DOE’s on jobs as needed.
•Perform machine capability studies on die cast machines.
•Maintain shot monitoring system for die cast machines.
•Provide training and support for shot monitoring
system
•Head Sample Team for new die sampling
•Work with others to increase part efficiency and utilization
•Participate in corrective action analysis as required
•Use of statistical tools appropriate to department
•Interpretation of control charts appropriate to department
•Evaluate and recommend new technology or ideas for improvement to production
Qualifications: •Minimum two year technical degree or equivalent with additional training in die casting principles
•Skills must include math, some algebra, organization, and ability to clearly communicate in writing, and verbally
•Three to five years of experience as process engineer in high pressure die casting or related field with previous technical experience preferred
•Basic understanding of Hydraulic Systems |
