Director, Engineering & Maintenance

Job Description
This position will supply managerial oversight of the manufacturing facilities engineering function and centralized maintenance strategic planning. This position will be responsible for managing an annual capital budget between $30 to $50 MM for 10 to 15 manufacturing facilities. At times, this position will also be responsible for Supply Chain initiated projects up to $ 25 MM. This position will be supported by Senior Project Managers, Senior Project Engineers, Senior Manager, Maintenance Reliability and/or Project Engineers as direct reports and facility Engineering and Maintenance Managers as indirect reports.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

•Develop, maintain, implement and report capital budget for all manufacturing facilities.
•Provide managerial oversight and technical support to facility managed capital projects.
•Continuous development of strategic facility and operations maintenance strategy.
•Develop and provide technical maintenance support systems and processes.
•Develop and implement process improvements and infrastructure projects.
•Assist in manufacturing strategic planning.
•Source and identify new equipment opportunities for manufacturing operations.
•Key member of Supply Chain Engineering Management Team including VP, Engineering; Director, Corporate Engineering; Director, Real Estate & Logistics Engineering; Director, Engineering, Innovation & Packaging and/or other Supply Chain Engineering personnel.
•Identify, evaluate and implement alternative maintenance support resources and services.
•Provide managerial and technical advisement for projects throughout Supply Chain organization.

•Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (preferably Packaging, Process, Mechanical, Electrical, Food Processing, Manufacturing, Chemical or Civil) or other related field.
•Master’s degree in Engineering or Business desirable.
•Minimum of 15 years work experience in food processing industry managing a diverse, technical staff and capital projects of $ 10 MM+.
•Must have experience with utility systems, refrigeration, construction, meat processing and packaging and government regulations.
•Must have experience with CCMS systems and TPM methodology.
•Requires good written and oral communication skills, ability to work independently, and must be results oriented.
•Must have in-depth knowledge of meat and food industry, processes and equipment including packaging systems, materials and technologies.
•Must have knowledge of financial indicators / analysis and experienced in capital planning, fixed asset management and budget development / management.
•Basic personnel computer skills including Microsoft Excel, Word, Project and Power Point.
•Familiarity with Auto Cad.
