Job Description
Position Description:
Chartis has an opportunity for a Director of Quantitative Analytics in its Science and Analytics department.
The focus of this position is to identify and execute analytical opportunities that significantly improve profitability, financial and risk management controls and operational efficiency across Chartis Inc.
Position Requirements
This position requires data analysis, predictive modeling and a variety of research activities. Responsibilities involve leveraging analytical and quantitative skills for all aspects of insurance business process. This includes large data manipulation, model building and validation, and strategy implementation. In addition to analytical work, effective presentation and conducting hands-on-training for model rollout will be required.
Additional responsibilities
Advise on new opportunities for predictive modeling
Build accurate, high quality models and embed models into Chartis workflow
Liaise with business/profit center experts
Creatively and rigorously apply statistical data analysis to a wide range of business problems
Build reports to defend proposed solutions
Participate in new global business opportunities for Science within Chartis Position
Masters degree in Statistics or related discipline with an undergraduate degree in Math, Statistics, Engineering or Quantitative Sciences from a top program
At least 7 years experience in applied data analysis including data cleansing, manipulations, programming, reconciling
Ability to influence and affect change
Strong communication skills and able to interact with all levels of management
Ability to develop internal client relationships
Ability to rigorously apply statistical models for insurance problems
Strong MS Office Skills (Access, Excel, PowerPoint.)
3+ years of SAS programming for data and modeling
